We believe that after our ongoing work in investigating and planning a sustainable NFP directory for the Eurobodalla Shire here is developing a need to establish a simple online platform that not only hosts the directory but acts as a local resource to NFPs across the Eurobodalla.
We believe this project addresses the following principles and the vision established through consultation at the recent FRRR workshop. It is designed to complement and expand the existing FRRR funded project titled ‘Batemans Bay Connections … Linking our community services, charities and clubs – now and into the future’
Our Batemans Bay Rotary Club will:
Provide ongoing organisation leadership and management through a diverse, engaged, and skilled team
Provide voluntary support and a ‘hands on’ approach
Develop and maintain the technology support required to host the Connect Eurobodalla online directory
Network NFPs and resources across the Eurobodalla
Liaise with other key NFP and local government
Establish and maintain a simple online platform that provides information, resources and support to NFP organisations.
We have established a local management team with representatives of NFPs that are active within the community and with the support of KOI and Practera we have developed:
an implementation plan designed on SMART principles
need for procedural protocols including data security
A suitable coordinator to assist in implementing the plan
A local technology support firm to develop a suitable web-based presence
communication strategies that encourages NFPs to access and use the platform
monitor that the plan meets its aims and timelines after the pilot completion
This project will meet the FRRR Roadmap goal of Sector Efficiency:
We have established a local management team with representatives of NFPs that are active within the community and with the support of KOI and Practera we have developed:
Promote and share innovative projects and resources that enhance NFPs operation and sustainability
Facilitate ongoing communication between NFPs and local government
Provide long term support to NFPs across the Eurobodalla
Manage and maintain a volunteer directory and database
Provide an up-to-date resource-based website
Promote activities that builds NFP resilience and expertise
Provide services that the local community wants and needs and benefits our community
Many of our voluntary organisations are working in isolation and are unaware that other local organisations are doing similar things or are encountering similar challenges. This project will provide a platform for a range of services and opportunities for NFPs to collaborate and share their skills and expertise. It is designed to build on the skills and contacts acquired through existing FRRR initiated projects.
We have already seen the result of increased cooperation and sharing between NFPs and this project will provide a structure by which the Eurobodalla communities can access services, ideas and resources.
The specific goals of the project are to:
Promote and launch the Connect Eurobodalla platform to Eurobodalla’s NFPs.
Provide an up-to-date portal that is actively used by NFPs and the community
Provide timely and relevant information communicated through the Connect Eurobodalla to NFPs
Contract a Coordinator to assist with implementing
Enhance communication and efficiency between NFPs
Reduce duplication and redundancies in NFPs
Increase the number of volunteers attracted to NFPs
Have NFP sharing best practice and linking resources for support and efficiency
